The Recipe
Today we will be learning the recipe of protein-rich peanut butter mug cake, so pay attention closely. Peanut butter mug cakes are a favourite of many and are part of their day-to-day life as a snack. However, to make a quick and healthy peanut butter mug cake, first, we would need some essential ingredients.
List of Ingredients & Steps
- Use bananas instead of artificial sugar to avoid any health issues. The bananas ought to be ripe to provide the cake its much-needed sweetness.
- Protein powder comes in different types, but preferably, you should choose custom protein powders as they have distinct flavors. And, you can decide on which ones to add to the cake. It also makes the cake healthier, and every bite of the cake is equal to an energy bite. If you are a vegan, you should use pea or soy protein powder instead.
- You can choose the brand of peanut butter as it mostly doesn’t matter. The only important factor is that the peanut butter should be natural with no additive sugar or chemicals- otherwise, the cake would lose its health benefits.
- Milk itself is rich in proteins, and it acts as a dissolving liquid to break down all the ingredients into a batter. It also contributes to the sweetness of the cake and the injection of proteins, like calcium.
- You can choose between choco chips or vanilla whip cream to add finishing touches to the cake.
- Add baking powder to the recipe to achieve the fluffiness texture of the cake.
Now, those were the ingredients required- so, let’s move on to the cooking part.
First, start adding the ingredients into a large mug while continuously stirring the batter. You can also spray the utensil with cooking oil beforehand to prevent the batter from sticking to the sides. Ingredients added: mashed bananas, baking powder, milk, and protein powder.
Next, put the mug into the microwave for at least a minute or two, and let the cake bake to achieve its fluffy texture. If the cake is still not cakey, put it in the microwave for another 15 to 20 seconds.
Finally, take the mug out of the microwave and drizzle peanut butter, choco chips or vanilla, and any other topping you would prefer on the mug cake. Well, now the cake is baked and ready to be munched down.
