HCG stands for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin. This hormone is present in your body. Pregnant women are known to produce a lot of this hormone. This hormone is produced for storing fat in pregnancy. HCG is known to burn fat and can probably work wonders for losing weight.

The HCG diet is a plan for losing weight, developed 60 years ago by Dr A.T.W. Simeons. This diet makes use of the HCG hormone for regulating the different metabolic processes. For which you need to take a dose of the HCG hormone. This has to be followed by a specific diet.

The HCG diet specifically limits the intake of calories. This needs to be around 500 calories per day. In addition, due to this restriction, this diet limits fats.
