Yoga Relaxation Techniques.

Yoga is a discipline inclining towards Hindu spiritual aesthetics, including breath control, adapting specific body postures, and meditation. Yoga is practised all over the world due to its benefits in health and relaxation.

Yoga acts as a stress buster for both men and women. But in women, yoga helps activate unique Chakras that provide energy to their body and optimize the working of the female organs.

The best yoga postures for women are as follows:

Balasana

Also referred to as the child’s pose or child resting pose, this yoga posture effectively lowers period pain and relieves menstrual cramps. In addition, this pose enables stretching of the ankle, hip, and thighs. This is a kneeling asana and is done in between practising sirasana.

Baddha Konasana

Also referred to as the butterfly pose, cobbler pose, or the throne pose, it enables the stretching of the inguinal region, knees, and thighs. This pose is categorized under hatha yoga where it is called the seated asana. This pose helps to cure menstrual irregularities in women but should be avoided when then women are on their periods. While doing this posture, one can even meditate.

Marjaniasana

Also referred to as the cat pose, this posture stresses the back, torso, and neck. It is categorized under the core postures of yoga. This pose takes inspiration from the stretching of a cat, which enables the female body to attain a relaxing feline stretching. This is one of the most simple postures of yoga that calm the mind and relaxes the person. This pose also helps relieve stress.

Bhujangasana

Also called the Cobra Pose, this posture enables the stretching of lungs, abdomen, thorax, as well as shoulders. It is categorized under hatha yoga where it is referred to as the reclining back bending asana. This posture is practised during the Surya namaskar. This asana also acts as a counterpart to the Urdhava Mukha Svanasana. This pose helps in relieving stress and allows one to relax.

Vrikshasana

Also referred to as the tree pose, this yoga posture enables stretching the inguinal region, thorax, thighs, and shoulders and provides strength to the vertebral column. This yoga is categorized under hatha yoga, where it is referred to as the standing pose. This pose is one of the very few standing postures of hatha yoga used till today.

Virabhadrasana II

Also called the Warrior Pose 2, it enables stretching the inguinal region, ankles, shoulders, legs, lungs, and thorax and strengthens the ankles and legs. This pose helps the women enhance their stamina and concentration and rejuvenate their bodies and minds. But if the practitioner suffers from a weak heart, then this asana should be avoided.

Navasana

Also called the boat Pose, this yoga takes place in two phases. The first phase, where the knees are bent and is called Navasana, and the second phase, where the legs are straightened, is called Paripurna Navasana. This yoga posture strengthens the hip flexor, abdomen, and vertebral column apart from acting as a stress buster.

Hence, relaxing with yoga among women is an excellent form of self-love as the postures keep one healthy and stress-free and rejuvenate the progress of the internal organs. Therefore, learning yoga for stress relief is a great idea indeed.
