Whether you hit the gym regularly or are an at-home workout practitioner, you might have already heard of the imaginary benefits of pre-workout supplements from all of your gym friends. Advocates also claim that these supplements can improve your fitness and give you the energy boost you need to power through different workouts.

Beta-alanine, amino acids, creatine, caffeine, and artificial sweeteners are mostly included, but these quantities vary greatly based on the brand. Additionally, a few products might not have been tested for their purity and quality.

Pre-workouts help you in getting your body prepared for the daily workout sessions. You can feel more energized and give your best at the gym or home working out sessions. There is always enough boost of energy to complete your daily targets of exercising.

When Should You Take Pre-Workout?

While you must follow those instructions, it is still not a bad idea to start with smaller portions of servings so that you can assess your level of tolerance, mainly if the supplement comes with beta-alanine or caffeine.

Keep in mind that if a supplement gives beta-alanine, you shouldn’t be surprised if you notice a tingling feeling. It is harmless, but a few individuals might find it a bit uncomfortable. Many pre-workout supplements are allowed to be taken 30-60 minutes before your workout. This will let your body have enough time for all of the ingredients to reach the bloodstream and start working. 

And here is your answer to when to take pre workout. If your pre-workout has caffeine or some other stimulants, you should think of the time of the day that you are taking it, as it might disrupt your ability to sleep.
