Quick and Healthy Dinner Ideas.
Nutrition and diet have been the subject of much speculation for ages. While there may be a lot of variation in diets and trends over the last few years, everyone does agree that food is crucial to health. Staying fit is only partly about the right workout. The food you eat plays a rather important role in determining your health.
What you eat and when plays an important role in your fitness journey. Dinner can play an important role in ensuring that you’re resting well and have all the proteins you need to build muscle.
Pan-Seared Salmon
A quick pan-seared salmon can be on your plate in 30 minutes or less, depending on how fast you cook. Salmon is rich in protein and omega-3 fatty acids, which helps with muscle development and promotes sleep. More than anything else, salmon is incredibly flavorful meat that’s easy to cook. It goes well with sides of vegetables, potatoes, or rice and will keep you pleasantly full. A good recipe idea is pairing your seasoned pan-seared salmon with a quick sauce made of honey, garlic and low sodium soy sauce!
Chickpeas
Chickpeas are great protein options for vegans, vegetarians, and even non-vegetarians who want a change of pace. Delicious and easy to cook if you’re using canned beans, chickpeas pair well with basmati rice or even pasta. You can throw the chickpeas with your pasta of choice. Lemon or tomato-based sauces pair well with them. Another option is to put together a delicious, authentic Indian curry of chickpeas. If you’re skipping the carbs, you can always swap the basmati rice for cauliflower rice.
Chicken Breasts
Chicken breasts get a bad rap for being dry and lacking in flavour, but that’s not true at all. If you’re only cooking the breasts, you have a better chance at controlling the heat and time that it cooks for. Chicken breasts are extremely lean and healthy meat. With a little bit of care and attention, you can have the chicken breasts on and off a medium-hot pan in minutes. Chicken goes well with most flavours so that you can marinate your chicken in dry brine, spices, or just salt and pepper. Dry brines tend to work better than wet marinades for lean meats.
Lemons, zested and juiced with olive oil, make a great vinaigrette to sauce your chicken breasts; you can also pair your chicken with tomatoes sautéed with garlic and oregano.
Healthy dinners go a long way in helping you stay fit and don’t have to be complicated at all!
